From ESPN: Mavs' Mark Cuban would consider drafting Brittney Griner

image from commercialappeal.com

Gotta hand it to Dallas Mavs owner Mark Cuban - he does not shy away from speaking his mind in front of the media. Baylor’s Brittney Griner is a very gifted Athlete and she has a bright future ahead of her whether she plays in the WNBA and/or internationally.

Mark Cuban does bring up a very good topic for debate among basketball fans: Could Brittney Griner hold her own in the NBA? While most may say no with the only reason that she is a woman that would be playing in a very physical league like the NBA, it’s not like it’s the NFL where brutal hits happen. I think it would be possible based on her size. She 6’8” and with a frame that would be perfect for a large shooting guard or small forward. Although her game is mainly in the paint from what I’ve seen in the games I’ve watched the past couple of years, it could be possible that with some outside shooting help she could add being a spot up shooter to her already impressive skill set.

I say draft her Mark Cuban! Low risk while being a trailblazer for giving women the opportunity to play in the NBA.

From Yahoo!: Former NBA Player Sam Bowie reveals that he lied to Portland Trailblazers about leg pain before 1984 Draft

Well then isn’t that some sh*t? Sam Bowie should give the Portland Trailblazers all the money that he took from them and give every Blazers fan a chance to kick him in the nuts for lying and costing them a chance at landing Michael Jordan.

NBA's own David Stern has history of selling draft picks to prospective owners

Celticslife.com has a pretty interesting read about David Stern and his past dealings that involve getting rid of NBA owners, luring new owners, and giving away draft picks like cheap mp3 players at a corporate event. Definitely an entertaining article.

Plus one can only wonder how different the Cavs’ history would be if former owner Ted Stepien didn’t trade away some of those picks. Having at least James Worthy would’ve been a huge improvement to their 1982 team.

What will it take for the Charlotte Bobcats to part with their No. 2 pick?

ESPN reports that the Bobcats are fielding offers for their No. 2 but it’s going to take a lot for them to give it up. If it were up to me I would just keep the pick and see how the first half of the season goes.

Wizards trade Rashard Lewis, No. 46 draft pick to New Orleans for Emeka Okafor, Trevor Ariza

Rashard Lewis has a new career as a professional trade chip. Emeka Okafor is looking to become a professional trade chip as well. Something tells me that Okafor and Ariza won’t be on that team by the time next season is over. Gotta love deals during the NBA FINALS! For more info on the trade check out this article.
