Michael Jordan is a steak lover

image from beansouptimes.com

Michael Jordan is the ultimate competitor on and off the court - he played basketball with tenacity, his business savvy has given him a big Jordan Brand shoe empire, and his legacy as one of the NBA greats will never be tarnished (well unless people start including his current position as owner of the Charlotte Bobcats).

But what makes him a champion? What fuels his greatness day in and day out? Apparently steak and potatoes. Michael Jordan apparently ate a big steak and potato meal four hours before every game. Here is an article from thepostgame.com that talks about the pre-game meals of pro athletes.

Yahoo!: Kerri Walsh Jennings was five weeks pregnant during her Olympic gold-medal run

Now that is quite a surprise! 5 weeks pregnant and still won the Olympic Gold? Those abs sure don’t look like she was 5 weeks pregnant. That baby will be coming out spiking volleyballs in no time. Congratulations Kerri!

Yahoo!: U.S. Olympian Michael Phelps could get in trouble for leaked Louis Vuitton photos

image from Yahoo!

If these images were in fact leaked and not released by Louis Vuitton or Michael Phelps’ camp then there should be no punishment whatsoever. But if Louis Vuitton and Michael Phelps are found guilty then rules are rules. In an ideal world, a good punishment should be that they make Michael Phelps use the money earned from that deal and put it towards the Olympic program for the U.S. That would be an ideal win-win for the Olympics and TEAM USA.

I think this may get corrected by the time you read this blog but I think the NBA and Getty got the captions wrong on their NBA tumblr page.
Didn’t USA beat Spain for the gold medal in the Olympics? Maybe I’m wrong or I’m reading the caption wrong. I thought the U.S. beat france at the Syndey games in 2000.

Vanessa Bryant furious over shirtless Kobe Bryant image

TMZ is reporting that Vanessa Bryant is peeved over the Kobe bryant shirtless pic. I guess I would too if Kobe had cheated in the past. Looks like Kobe’s Summer of love is officially over.

From Fox Sports: Olympic Bronze Medal winner breaks medal in shower

I don’t know if there is a warranty for medals being damaged but I think it should be covered for the duration of the Olympics. Anytime after the Olympics that’s your problem. Felipe Kitadai should try to argue that the medal hasn’t left Olympics grounds so it should be replaced (sort of like when a car doesn’t leave the lot).

Lebron James says that 2012 U.S. Basketball Team could beat the 1992 Deam Team

I think Lebron James is still drunk from all the champagne that he drunk from that NBA Finals run with the Miami Heat.

The 2012 team may be a bit more versatile and younger than the players that played on the 1992 Dream Team but make no mistake that the Dream Team would still easily win. The 2012 Olympic Mens Basketball team lacks in team play and is still too egotistical (except for Kevin Durant and James Harden who put the team above themselves) to accept deferring to the right player when in the right game play situation.

Too bad we’ll never get the chance to see these two teams play. But if it ever was possible for them to play, Nelson Laut would say that final score would be Dream Team wins agains the 2012 U.S. Mens Basketball Team 125 - 103.

Olympian Triple jumper Voula Papachristou expelled from Greece Olympic Team over racist tweets

I swear that athletes are getting dumber and dumber every year. Did Greek Olympian Voula Papachristou think that her controversial tweets would not be seen by the world? I mean it is Twitter one of the only most widely used social media tools in the world. Yeah she should be completely floored that the tweets would be found (I, Nelson Laut am being sarcastic with that last comment if you didn’t know).
