Just a couple of quick funny commercials that I spotted. The embedded clip being Blake Griffin for the Jordan Brand and below’s link John Wall for Red Bull.
Nike said it has removed an embarrassing geographical error from circulation. The T-shirt, which started to gain traction after it was pointed out on Twitter, had a Carolina Panthers logo with the letters NC inside an outline of South Carolina.
I don’t know the process at Nike products being approved but maybe they should strengthen the relationship between their own product managers with the NFL representatives to make sure errors like these don’t happen in the future. Or maybe they want South Carolina feel a little more involved since the Panthers play in North Carolina.
This is the first time that I have seen this clip of Michael Jordan shattering a backboard. These backboards must’ve been from the 60s cause I don’t ever recall MJ having that much power to rock the rim that hard. Check out Michael’s breaking slam at around the 2:16 mark.
Cleveland Cavaliers star Kyrie Irving hates cinematic dunks in this latest Foot Locker commercial for their Week of Greatness campaign. Pretty funny stuff.
Michael Jordan is the ultimate competitor on and off the court - he played basketball with tenacity, his business savvy has given him a big Jordan Brand shoe empire, and his legacy as one of the NBA greats will never be tarnished (well unless people start including his current position as owner of the Charlotte Bobcats).
But what makes him a champion? What fuels his greatness day in and day out? Apparently steak and potatoes. Michael Jordan apparently ate a big steak and potato meal four hours before every game. Here is an article from thepostgame.com that talks about the pre-game meals of pro athletes.
Don’t get excited Sneakerheads! Although Nike will not be selling the tricked out plus version of the Lebron X for $315, ESPN is reporting that Nike will be selling it for a mere $270. Before you start yelling “boo” at the price, you have to keep in mind that this does have Nike+ technology in it and this shoe is clearly for basketball players looking to track their improvements and progress on the court. I guess the sneaker camping lines will be a little shorter with that price tag…
I am the kind of guy that appreciates shoe and sneaker collectors. I check out Kicksonfire.com, Nicekicks.com and Counterkicks.com to see the latest and greatest sneakers that collectors are clamoring for and with this news of Nike scheduling to release the special version of the Lebron X for possibly over $300 it’s kind of crazy. People should know that there are two versions of this show and the $300 shoe is for the Nike+ enabled version but this price is pretty crazy but then again I’ve seen shoe collectors shell out a lot of cash for even used sneakers. I guess this move by Nike is to stop resellers from selling the shoe at that price.
Hanging out poolside can be a fun and refreshing thing. But what if you got your clothes and shoes wet? It could ruin your day.
Miami Heat’s Chris Bosh see’s how the OKC Thunders’ Russell Westbrook, James Harden, and the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Kevin Love stays cool by the pool without getting your clothes wet in this Foot Locker Yacht Commercial.
Carmelo Anthony sure loves rocking the Jordan Brand. He’s got so many clothes and shoes that he needs multiple versions of himself in order to wear them all.
This is an amusing Foot Locker commercial featuring Melo and the Jordan Brand.
