FROM Celticslife - Carmelo Anthony bashes NY fans for booing Pierce in pregame ceremony

A good read. Boston and New York Sports fans are very brutal towards each others teams and players but something like this should not ever be tolerated. It’s one thing to boo a player like Paul Pierce because of what team he plays for, but when the New York Knicks set up a classy pregame ceremony to honor the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombings, there’s no need for fans to be acting in that manner.

TMZ VIDEO: Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony in a screaming match following Monday’s Celtics-Knicks game

Well here it is: the video that people have been looking for courtesy of TMZ. I couldn’t really hear what both of them are saying but there is the whole post game altercation that everyone has been talking about between Celtics star Kevin Garnett and Knicks star Carmelo Anthony. All a bunch of talk.

Comcast Sportsnet VIDEO: Carmelo Anthony spotted waiting for Kevin Garnett after Celtics/Knicks game

What is this high school?! Carmelo Anthony needs to just let his game speak for him rather than resort to punk moves. Remember Melo you’re getting paid to play a schoolyard game. Kevin Garnett may be a rough and sometimes “dirty” player (and this is coming from a die-hard Celtics fan), but if you let a future hall of famer get in your head then you shouldn’t be playing this game.

Carmelo Anthony dominates against kids in latest Foot Locker commercial. Finally he’s on a team where he gets the ball as much as he wants.

Carmelo Anthony sure loves rocking the Jordan Brand. He’s got so many clothes and shoes that he needs multiple versions of himself in order to wear them all.

This is an amusing Foot Locker commercial featuring Melo and the Jordan Brand.

New York Knicks do the smart thing and let the Houston Rockets get Jeremy Lin

I’m not a New York Knicks fan but I don’t blame them for not keeping Lin. That contract is too much for the Knicks to handle with Chandler, Anthony and Stoudemire already on the books (even though NY has been notorious for giving ridiculous deals) and after adding the pass happy point guards Jason Kidd and Raymond Felton, it gives everyone more shots that Lin could have taken away. You can’t expect the Knicks to utilize shooters like Steve Novak and J.R. Smith if Jeremy Lin is taking 15 shots a night.

And in a perfect situation, Jeremy Lin should have known better that the Knicks wouldn’t match a contract like that. Good luck counting all your money while the Rockets have a hard time getting into the playoffs in a stacked conference. Have fun passing ball to your only option Kevin Martin.

Carmelo Anthony says, "Don't blame me if the New York Knicks don't bring back Jeremy Lin"

After reading Yahoo!’s little snippet, I can only partly agree with Carmelo is saying. Yes the it’s up to the Knicks to match Jeremy Lin’s offer and that he is not management, but last season when Melo got back in the lineup he didn’t really want to share the ball as much and it showed that he wasn’t going to take any play-calling orders from Lin.

If Lin were to stay then he would be getting 15 touches per game and that would take away from Amar’e Stoudemire and Anthony which cause more “Melo-drama” later on in the season if Carmelo doesn’t get his shots. So in way you can sort of blame him for the Knicks not matching the offer.

Caption Chat 02/28/2011: Carmelo Anthony gets felt up by Ronny Turiaf

Every now and then when I check the scores and stories of the day, I come across pictures that are funny, sad, or downright creepy.  Either way, every picture screams to me, “Please put a caption under me Nelson!

I would like to introduce to you all a new segment here at Sore Sports called “Caption Chat”.

“Damn ‘Melo that jersey’s soft! What is this Velvet!?!?”

Did Carmelo Anthony save New York Basketball just in the “Knick” of time?

New York Knicks' Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo Anthony is back home in the Big Apple!

After months of trade talks where destinations ranged from New Jersey to Houston and contemplating the idea of playing the “Let’s hope that our star will re-sign” game (that plan worked wonders for the Cleveland Cavaliers), the Denver Nuggets finally agreed to ship Carmelo Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman to the New York Knicks in exchange for Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov and a 2014 first-round draft pick. Before Carmelo landed into NYC, New Yorkers began laying out the red carpet and claimed him as the King of the Garden - Heck, even the famous Carnegie Deli laid out all the fixins and created the Melo Sandwich.

With all the hype surrounding Anthony, where does this leave current Knick star and former King of the Garden Amare Stoudemire? While he has shown excitement for Melo’s arrival, one can’t help but wonder about Amare’s true feelings. Is it possible that he feels that Carmelo will now be seen as “The Man” in the city or does he think that they truly can co-exist on the same big stage?  Either way, Knicks fans are just happy that basketball is now relevant again and that the new Dynamic Duo in the east will definitely cause nothing short of excitement.
